Hines Ward puts down roots in Atlanta

We wanted to share some images of Pittsburgh Steeler, Hines Ward’s Atlanta home in Architectural Digest. Having recently won the coveted mirrorball trophy on ABC’s hit tv show Dancing with the Stars, Hines displayed just as much passion with the design of his home as he did on the dance floor.

This Atlanta-based football star is no stranger to Georgia. Having gone to high school in the metro Atlanta area and then on to a stellar career playing football at the University of Georgia, Hines decided to put some roots down in his hometown. The featured six-page spread in Architectural Digest showcases some of Ward’s personal touches such as a washing machine in the master closet. Working closely with architect David Grace, realtor Tony Lacey and builder Dick Clegg of Housing Trends, Hines created a home that would become a retreat during his off-season.

Hines Ward told Architectural Digest that “Before I built my dream house, I spent years clipping pictures from magazines. I watch design shows on TV; I make mental notes wherever I go—friends’ places, hotels. You can be amazed at what you pick up just by paying attention.”
